Sunday, December 20th, 2015 marked the gala opening for the renewed Art at the Park series of exhibitions at Holly Kai Park.

As reported in these pages, the new exhibition will run through until Sunday, February 7th, 2016 and features the work of six wonderful talents in Second Life: Boudicca Amat, Kess Crystal, Jaydn Firehawk, Johannes1977 Resident, Nico Time and CioTToLiNa Xue.

The opening event featured the voice and music of Erin68 Frog, with streamed music following after the first hour.

For me, the time leading up to the party was somewhat nervous; I’ve been to many an opening, but never actually hosted one myself. There are probably a few things to be improved upon, but overall, everyone who attended appeared to have a good time. Certainly Erin presented a marvellous selection of music and everyone took to the dance floor and seemed to enjoy their time – with quite a few staying on well after we’d switched over to the music stream.

After the party had started to wind down, many of those attending took the opportunity to walk up the hill from the venue and tour the art on display, and I believe i saw a few purchases being made 🙂 .

The gala also marked the first in what we hope will be many entertainment events to come at The Pavilion, both for exhibition openings and closings for the park, and in connection with other events as well.

In the meantime, I’d like to extend my thanks to all who attended the opening and who helped to make it a success, and we look forward to seeing you back at The Pavilion and Holly Kai Park in the future.

Thank you as well, to Erin68 Frog from providing the music, and to our exhibiting artists who were able to be on-hand for the event.
